For our Anniversary this year, we decided to go to Bear Lake! I, believe it or not, have never been there before. I was really excited to see it. Raspberry Days was also going on, so we thought we would enjoy some of the festivities as well.
We found a camp spot on the East end of the Lake. We had our Sportsbrella, and set it up at the "beach". There really was no beach because the water was so high, as you will see in the pictures below with all the tree's in the water.
We took some tubes and just floated around and relaxed in the water all day. It was perfect! The temperature was divine!
Here is our little camp for the night. We decided to stay at the lake all day, and go to the little town the next day... little did we know the festivities were over. Oh well, we'll go again some day. We made tin-foil dinners, they burned pretty badly. We got inpatient and put them on the fire too soon. It was way too hot! Ha ha.
The sun setting was beautiful across the lake that evening! We watched the fireworks on the other side of the lake, and enjoyed our night.
The next day, after we packed up, we went to the other side of the lake were all the shops and diners are. There was one little diner open, and the line was getting long!
The raspberry shakes were delicious! I wanted my own, but I should have shared it with Josh, because I only ate about half of it. My eyes have always been bigger then my stomach!
One our way down we saw this little spring, and wanted to stop there on our way back. It's called Rick's Spring, and it is in Logan Canyon. The Pioneers thought the water was safe to drink because it was so crystal clear, and they thought the water was coming from a natural spring. They were wrong, it is actually a huge cave that goes several thousand feet down, and is part of the river. It was beautiful water, and very interesting... oh, and ICE COLD!!
There was little caves around the area too... Fun Fun! Scary!
We had a great time going to Bear Lake for the Weekend. Happy Anniversary Babe!
