Music!

Josh and I went to the Sherwood concert tonight with Kellie. It was at Studio 600 which I think is an LDS dance club... correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways we had a good time. It has been a while since Josh and I have gone to a concert. I think our last one was at Death Cab for Cutie back in May. It was a pretty good venue, there was lots of space, and it was really clean. But the sound wasn't so great. It was super loud. Seriously one of the loudest concerts ever which really messes with the sound! The bands that played before Sherwood weren't that great, and they played too long, therefor Sherwood's set wasn't very long. But they always put a smile on my face, and their music always makes me think of Summer. I'll call it my Farewell to Summer concert. Woo hoo for Sherwood!

Saturday Fun

Yesterday I just so happened to have the day off. I work every Saturday, as many of you know. It kind of stinks, but I make a lot of money that day. Anyways Josh and I had a wonderful day together. We woke up and worked out together. Then we went to a late breakfast at the Original Pancake House and got omelets and pumpkin pancakes! So yummy! I swear it was like a five egg omelet! I only ate about 1/3 of it! But it was delicious. Then we decided to take a drive up to the Park City Outlet Stores and do a little shopping. I found some great deals! I got two pairs of pants, three shirts, and a cute headband for about $50! We couldn't find anything for Josh though, which stunk. On our way back to the valley, we stopped and took some quick pictures of the pretty mountains! I love fall and I am hoping it will last for a while instead of turning right into winter! Later that evening we met Rachael and Trevor for dinner at the Olive Garden! Yum yum yum! I got so stuffed... again! It's probably really bad for you to get really stuffed twice in one day! Yikes! After dinner Josh and I came home and watched Riding Giants together. It is an awesome documentary about big wave surfing that will blow your mind! I had such a fun Saturday with my hubby!

Real Salt Lake Game!

Josh has been looking forward to this game for a long time. It was the first Real game in the new Rio Tinto stadium, and I will tell you that the stadium looks awesome. There isn't a bad seat in the house. It is so open. Josh and I met his parents and his little brother Ryan and his girlfriend Christina at the Sandy Court House and took shuttles up to the stadium. It was a very efficient system, even after the game. Walking toward the entrance of the stadium, we saw Coby Nowers the cop keeping his eye out for trouble. Ha ha. The game was a lot of fun. It was my first Real game ever. Soccer fans are crazy, including Josh. He was yelling so loud that by the end of the game he lost his voice. It was an exciting game with several yellow cards and a red card thrown. But the fans were a little disappointed that it ended up tied 1-1. I would of had more pictures, but my batteries died! I was hoping to get some shots of the actual game!

Money Saving Ideas

Since we are in this economic crisis for who knows how long, I thought I would share some simple money saving ideas. A lot of these ideas I got from watching Oprah. (Ha ha). But it is some good advice.

1. Plan ahead... on meals, and other supplies.
2. Unplug appliances when not is use. Even though the power isn't on, when the item is plugged in it still uses some energy. This woman on the show became obsessed with unplugging stuff and her energy bill went from $260/month to $80/month!
3. Pack lunches
4. Cook more meals
5. Swap with friends. This is great because we are going to do that this Christmas at our party! Two friends on the show swapped living room sets.
6. Carpool/ take bus. I find this one to be very difficult. Do you agree?
7. Never pay full price for anything! Search for sales! I am really good at this one!
8. Look for free stuff online, some restaurants have free meals for kids.
9. Use library resources more.
10. Stock up on meat and other food when it's on sale.
11. Use store sales and coupons, try to use them together! couponmom.com
12. Pay attention to your spending! Needs over wants.

If anyone has more ideas we can add them to this list!
